‘Alone together’ is another attack against the fantasy of fame and money on saving your soul. There seems to be a continual assault on us to force the illusion that winning Britain’s got talent or winning the lottery will somehow solve all the tribulations of modern life. The church used to own the copyright but now it seems to be who you vote for, who has the most friends on social media, how banding together as a small group and choosing an enemy will somehow preserve the human race! We really are one people struggling for a place in the modern world.
